OnsiteCollins Aerospace in Spokane WA is hiring for a motivated entry level Machine Operator I in our Machine Shop. You will learn and be responsible for the set-up, calibration and operation of machines used in the production process. Training provided on the job.
The Machine Shop is responsible for ensuring features are cut into the densified carbon material from Furnace Deck. This highly complex process requires operators to have sound math skills and meticulous attention to detail as well as a mechanically inclined mind. Physical work is present but much less demanding than some departments. This stage of the process requires operators to operate large machines and perform tasks assigned for quality control and data integrity within digital systems.
Rotating Shift: Our Operators love our 4 on - 4 off schedule, 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Rotating between day/night shift every 6 weeks.
- Salary range for this role is $36,899.20 to $49,920
- Shift differential of +2.25/hr paid on both day and night shifts.
- Additional 16 hours/month in average of built-in overtime
What You Will Do
- You will part of a team-oriented atmosphere and interact with other functional groups (e.g., engineering) on technical matters.
- You will setup CNC machines and run parts (training provided)
- You will follow a weekly Preventative Maintenance process.
- You will follow applicable instructions (WI, SOP, Reference documents).
- You will use precision gauging tools (including CMM), verifying gauge calibration (micrometers, calipers, drills, inserts, etc.).
- You will identify and document out-of-spec conditions.
- You will complete daily machine inspections, calibration verification.
- You will follow First Piece Inspection procedure, tools, inserts and their functions.
- You will adhere to all safety policies (Collins Aerospace Cardinal Rules)
- You will participate in 5S/continuous improvement processes (ACE).
- You will observe and follow all environmental, health and safety procedures.
- You will comply with all company policies and procedures.
- You will maintain a clean and organized work area.
- You will adhere to all engineering instruction, standard operation procedures, and all departmental procedures.
- You will have the ability to prioritize tasks under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required.
- You will work 4 days on/4 days off – 12-hour shifts, rotating days to nights every 6 weeks.
What You Will Learn
- You will gain the knowledge of all pertinent customer and company specifications including but not limited to international standards relating to the production of carbon-carbon brake components & company policies.
- You will complete all training as assigned in the allotted time.
- You will learn to setup CNC machines and run parts.
- You will learn how to use forklift and pallet jack
- You will learn how to use riveters both manual and automated
- You will learn how to use scales, calipers, micrometers
- You will learn how to use bar code scanning equipment
- You will learn how to use various tools (mixes, hotplates, etc.)
- You will learn how to operate the automated oxidation coating station
- You will learn how to operate oxidation bake out ovens.
- You will learn how to operate power and pneumatic equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have
- HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma a GED is required.
