TITLE: Intern – Digital Sustainability, India

Job scope (core activities):

As a Digital Sustainability Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to support the Sustainability Team in driving environmental and social responsibility within Airbus Digital in India and contributing to global sustainability initiatives across the organization. This role offers hands-on experience in understanding the core concepts of sustainability, learning how to measure and analyze data to assess environmental and social impact, and supporting the development and implementation of sustainable solutions for real business challenges within the digital landscape. You will gain valuable insights into the intersection of technology and sustainability within a leading aerospace company, contributing to the understanding of the environmental impact of our digital activities and the promotion of environmentally and socially responsible technologies and practices within the IT domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teams in using tools to measure their products&39; environmental footprint.

• Learn and contribute how to make digital products more environmentally friendly (Eco-Design)  (e.g., data efficiency, modularity)..

• Provide tech support for our sustainability tools.

• Research new green technologies for IT.

• Support the team in working with innovation groups..

• Assist with making digital products more efficient (data, design).

• Help create basic reports on our sustainability efforts.

• Provide technical help to put sustainability plans into action.

• Analyze environmental impact data and generate insights using LCA results using dashboarding (QlickSense, Data Studio, Python)

Required Domain Expertise: 

• Data analysis using Excel, Python, or R for environmental footprint calculations

• Basic knowledge of sustainable software design (e.g., energy-efficient code, data minimization)

• Experience with dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for sustainability metrics

• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and awareness of their environmental impact

• Research skills in emerging technologies (e.g., energy-efficient AI, modular digital architectures)

Area: 

• Airbus Commercial

Education: 

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor&39;s or Master’s degree in:

• Engineering (Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace etc.)

• Relevant experience in Data Science/ Data Analytics / Design / Business would be given preference

• Innovation & Entrepreneurship or related experience is a plus

• Environmental Science / Sustainability
