ABOUT THE HQ DIVISION
To navigate the challenging skies, Hydro-Québec currently has a fleet of 4 aircraft - two Dash 8 Q400s and two Dash 8-300s, which will be replaced by a fleet of ATR72-600s in 2026 - that ensure the smooth movement of employees to key sites in the Saguenay, Abitibi, North Shore and James Bay regions. ROLE OVERVIEW
Are you a detail-oriented problem-solver with a love for aviation? Do you excel in challenging environments and have a talent for keeping operations seamless? If so, we want you on our team! As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for the HQ Division at Air Inuit, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our fleet is always prepared to conquer the skies.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Execute aircraft maintenance and workshop tasks as outlined in the work order, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, all in line with established guidelines.
- Document and sign off on all completed work items as required on relevant paperwork.
- Utilize approved procedures, methods, and materials during all aircraft and workshop operations to ensure top-notch quality.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests with efficiency and expertise.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Ensure that all items of work are recorded and signed out as required on the applicable Maintenance Control forms.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled AME engineers and apprentices.
- Keep the hangar, tools, equipment, and workshop facilities in pristine condition.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks in line with the Department’s operational needs.
- Perform other related tasks as per the operational needs of the HQ Division.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Possess a valid AME “M” license with at least 3 years of hands-on experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with an AME “M” license and experience on the ATR aircraft.
- Successfully complete training and eligibility exams for Hydro-Quebec AMO certification (aircraft certification authority).
- Familiarity with maintenance policies relevant to aircraft operations and the necessary maintenance manuals is essential for performing duties effectively.
- The ideal candidate will excel in both team settings and independent tasks, showcasing strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), including an airside drivers license (D) and a radio license.
- Bring your own essential tools related to your work tasks.
- Must hold and keep up to date all necessary authorizations and documents to legally work in Canada.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Day shift (4:15am – 2:15pm) - Schedule type 4-3
