Position Overview
Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies, is seeking a Business Development Executive. In this position you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, as well as expanding revenue within existing accounts. This role combines strategic planning, spanet research, relationship management, and sales execution to drive sustainable growth for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- New business development; identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in assigned spanets or territories and conduct prospecting activities (cold outreach, networking, events, referrals, digital channels) to build a robust sales pipeline.
- Account management and growth; conduct regular account reviews to identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities, as well as act as a trusted advisor, understanding client goals and aligning company solutions with their business needs.
- Market and competitor analysis; research and analyze spanet trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings and help refine target segments, value propositions, and go-to-spanet strategies.
- Sales and strategy execution; contribute to territory plans, growth strategies, and revenue targets.
- Collaboration and cross-functional support; Participate in the development of proposals, responses to RFPs/RFQs, and other commercial documents.
Essential skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for this position
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-4 years direct experience in a business development, sales, account management, or a related revenue-generating role
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or growth targets
- Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics) and sales productivity software
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities
- Ability to understand and articulate complex products or services in business terms
- Strong analytical and research skills; comfortable interpreting data to inform strategy
- Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills at multiple organizational levels
- High level of self-motivation, organization, and time management; ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
