Job Title: Aircraft Sealer

Job Description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Aircraft Sealer is responsible for the aircraft fuel tank sealing process, ensuring adherence to production schedules and compliance with all applicable health and safety policies. This role involves cleaning and sealing fuel tank components and other aircraft parts, often requiring work in confined spaces within wing fuel cells. The position may require accessing fuel cells through small openings.

Responsibilities

• Set up In-Tank tools at the start of the shift, such as lights, guns, and spatulas.
• Coordinate and plan work duties with co-workers at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Clean the tank by vacuuming and removing all Foreign Object Debris (FOD), using correct solvents, and wiping heads of fasteners, tank rims, and surfaces where seals are applied.
• Apply sealant to specifications, including fillet seal, dome seal, and injection seal.
• Indicate applied seal (wet seal) using tape and other tools.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area, dispose of hazardous waste, and store tools properly.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems creatively to meet production demands.
• Use mirror techniques for sealer application in non-visible areas.
• Follow safety precautions using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) when working with hazardous chemicals.
• Use the correct solvent for specific application areas.
• Work effectively in confined spaces.
• Initiate action to prevent non-conformities related to products, processes, and quality/environmental systems.
• Identify and record problems related to products, processes, and quality/environmental systems.
• Recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming products until deficiencies are corrected.

Essential Skills

• 2-4 years of experience as an aircraft sealer
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft manufacturing
• Proficiency in sealing techniques

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $52.00/hr.
