About the role

We are currently recruiting for Resource Planning and Optimization Manager for Ground Services in Doha.

As Resource Planning and Optimization Manager, you lead the development and management of the manpower planning and roster team for Qatar Airways’ Doha Hub. Your role ensures efficient resource utilization across the Operations division and facilitates early identification of skill and manpower gaps. You work in close collaboration with HR to implement strategic resourcing and recruitment initiatives, securing talent with the right skills, knowledge, and experience within defined timeframes.

Key accountabilities include:

Manage and develop a highly efficient Manpower Planning, ensuring clear visibility of current and future resource requirements for the Hub. Analyze operational demands and deliver a consolidated, rolling resource plan across all Hub operations.

Define budgets and create financial plans, optimizing forecasts for cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency while aligning with the Hub’s strategic direction and performance objectives.

Conduct comprehensive analysis of short- and long-term operational forecasts, identify trends and patterns, and leverage insights to produce accurate demand forecasts that maximize workforce performance.

Oversee data management and collaborate closely with internal departments and Qatar Airways Group entities to identify workforce gaps and implement effective solutions to minimize shortages.

Partner with stakeholders to establish resource requirements for manpower budgeting and control, ensuring alignment with Hub operational needs.

Prepare and deliver high-quality operational reports for Hub Management and Ground Services Head Office to support planning, forecasting, and manpower optimization in line with departmental strategy.

Provide guidance and support to employees on administrative matters and employment conditions, implementing enhanced processes to drive operational and commercial efficiency.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and job specific skills:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Proven management and leadership experience within the airline or aviation industry.

Track record of holding a management role with significant decision-making autonomy.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse, multicultural teams effectively.

Extensive expertise in rostering and resource planning tools.

Highly motivated and passionate about delivering a world-class, 5-star service experience.

Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Exceptional forecasting abilities with strong financial acumen.

Flexibility to work varied hours, particularly during critical service disruption periods.

Preferred

Deep understanding and practical experience in resource management and planning, including static and rolling forecasts, skills analysis, resource optimization techniques, and advanced resource planning tools.

Comprehensive expertise in RMS systems.
