The Role
MB Aerospace are looking for a highly skill Quality Manager to join their Quality team. The role reports directly to the General Manager of the site. The manager will ensure product quality standards are met through robust and capable inspection policies, procedures, and methods. Lead all aspects of quality activity within the area of responsibility, with full accountability for ensuring that the agreed current and future customer quality are met throughout the product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and direct the Quality organisation in the achievement of the standards expected of our products and services.
- Coach, mentor and develop members of the Quality Team to improve their skills. Identify development requirements, carry out regular appraisals and application of disciplinary/capability procedures as necessary.
- Ensure that an effective internal audit procedure is established, carried out and maintained as fit for purpose. Identify and report any non-conformance issues and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Represent the Company during customers visits (on-site and at Customers facility) both in the UK and abroad.
- Ensure that the QMS system is regularly reviewed, improved, and maintained as fit for purpose. Set standards and produce data and reports to the Senior Management Team on performance and compliance with QMS requirements.
- Carry out regular assessments of MB Aerospace Quality Performance against customer requirements and expectations. Report findings and ensure improvement requirements are reported developed and implemented.
- Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of latest technical developments, processes and procedures are maintained and communicated across Engineering and Operational Teams.
- Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.
- Ensure the business site KPIs are executed as planned with regards to the key metrics that are influenced by the quality department.
- Deliver product/services committed to customers at the right time, cost, quality and responsiveness to support their plans
- Ensures compliance to Company Health, Safety and Environment policy
- Ensures compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements through the quality management system aligned to AS9100 and customer specific requirement (verified through internal audits)
- Creates the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practices with other areas and other internal and external networks
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated proven expert in the role of Quality as applied within an Engineering and Manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of latest Lean and CI techniques and processes.
- Demonstrated high level of technical expertise in Aerospace product would be advantageous
- Understanding/knowledge of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Planning & Control demonstrating breadth of experience and implementing (at pace) change that affects people
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written including report writing to internal and external customers.
- High level of numeracy & literacy.
- Proven Team Leading experience with good people management skills.
- Educated to HND or Degree level in a relevant Technical/Engineering subject.
- Accredited member of Quality Management Institute would be advantageous
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of AS9100 & Aerospace Business Systems
