Parker Lord’s Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications. Position Summary
The Dayton Plant is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead the development of the quality culture throughout the facility in support of the Division / Plant Zero Defects Methodology. In this position, you will manage hourly personal, integrate with and influence cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Dayton Quality Leader work closely with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. This position will be responsible for direct supervision of Quality Assurance inspection (RI / CMM / Gage Lab / NDT) and other resources. “Hands-on” experience is emphasized.
Essential Job Functions
- Drives continuous improvement efforts.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Drives SPC / MSA / Gage R&R on processes / equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability.
- Ensures on time completion of gage calibration.
- Leads the supplier delegation program.
- Leads / coordinates internal and external audits.
- Interprets company policies to Quality Assurance hourly workers and enforces work rules and safety regulations. Conducts performance reviews and establishes both performance and developmental goals.
- Monitors flow of work through various Quality Assurance departments; Receiving Inspection, NDT, Gage Calibration.
- Monitors training requirements and records for Quality Assurance department.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves problems or assists workers in solving problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Support and back-up to the Quality Engineering Team / Quality Manager
- Proven ability to resolve complex quality issues and implement systemic process improvements
- Strong technical leader and problem solver with ability to handle multiple daily priorities to achieve results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to work as part of a team in daily problem solving and new process/product introduction.
- Demonstrated process management/lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience as well as knowledge and experience with quality system standards
- Approachable and able to effectively communicate advanced quality concepts, plans, and technical data, internally and externally at all levels.
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and related process controls
- Demonstrated competency and professionalism in interactions with executive management, team members, suppliers, customers, etc.
- Ability to navigate customer portals and company systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products

- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Qualifications
Required
Minimum 5 years of Quality related experience with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Solid working knowledge of mechanical processes utilized in the manufacture of metal/rubber products.
- Experience with SAP
Education
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline with an active pursuit of a degree
