These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
This manager serves as an advisor and key cultural change agent reporting directly to senior leadership in Fuel Management. This role collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to identify business process inefficiencies, establish relevant KPIs and organize the development of clear actionable recommendations to support decision making by leadership. This manager will effectively influence various subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to facilitate practical solutions while providing clear structure and prioritization of competing dynamic workstreams.
This high impact role will support the full realization of value from the digital transformation of work processes and data flows involved with the end-to-end transaction lifecycle of conventional and SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) for United Airlines and its affiliates. The role demands a proactive problem-solver with strong ability to identify and anticipate gaps as well as effectively communicate with relevant detail from working group stakeholders to senior management to inform decision making.
- Preparing for stakeholder meetings, prioritizing and organizing topics with adequate rigor, clarity, and detail ensuring leadership has timely organized information on critical issues and decision points
- Working with fuel management, fuel / corporate accounting, and digital technology teams and external vendors to identify key priorities and continual alignment towards business objectives
- Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for various workstreams and identifying areas for improving quality and relevancy of metrics
- Managing special projects as assigned, reporting on project status, risks, issues, and mitigation actions
- Support business process improvements within risk policies, controls, and constraints
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelors degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Technology, or Aviation related
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
- Application of Project Management methods
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal communication and written presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task & adapt to shifting priorities
- Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Knowledge of scrum / agile methodologies
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization, reporting and business intelligence tools
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Job availability is 24/7 with some travel required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

- Masters degree
- CPA, MBA, PMP
- 7+ years in airline industry, fuel related supplier/re-seller experience
- Experience with transportation fuel, aviation fuel
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with prioritization
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, with knowledge of PowerBI, SQL,
- Familiarity with Fuel ETRM systems such as ION RightAngle
The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
