Job Summary  

As Spirit expands and accelerates, we are looking for a Cloud Engineering Manager who can be a change agent for our leading-edge transformation. You will manage a team handling a challenging and varied array of problems in how we gain further maturity in DevOps tools, processes, and Infrastructure Engineering capabilities. You will assist in designing and executing our cloud roadmap that consists of high-performing, highly available, secure and innovative solutions.

Spirit’s infrastructure engineering team is responsible for providing best-in-class cloud infrastructure & design environment in our Azure cloud presence, optimized to meet the scale and complexity of our varied workloads.

• Measure and optimize Azure services and performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, staying ahead of demand, and innovating to continually improve.
• Evaluate and adopt new Cloud services in Servers, Storage/Backup, and Network for scalability, robustness, and uptime improvement.
• Implement, maintain, and consult on the observability stack that supports the needs of multiple internal stakeholders.
• Utilize your experience and problem-solving skills to help prevent and investigate production issues.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new system high-complexity complexity design environments.
• Research and recommend specific systems, architectures, and applications, for cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Work closely with the IT Network, IT Security, IT Compliance, Software development, and Solutions teams to define, discover, and implement requirements while providing an exceptionally stable and reliable

• Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification

   

  Experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience managing infrastructure-focused engineering teams on Cloud (Azure Preferred)
  • 5–7 years of experience focusing on one or more of the following areas:
    • Build, Test, and Deploy
    • Developer Productivity
    • Instrumentation and Observability
    • High-Reliability Engineering
    • Cloud Infrastructure
    • DevOps

   

  Certifications

  • MS Azure Certification is an asset
  • Azure DevOps is an asset
  • Azure Architect is an asset

   

  Specialized Skills & Competencies

  • Domain Knowledge of the underlying infrastructure services on clouds such as Networking, Storage, and Hardware Optimization.
  • Proven experience in High-Performance Computing environments is preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving / troubleshooting skills. HA and Scalability knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience in navigating fast-moving, hyper-growth initiatives.
