Profile: The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of all HR functions across the Lafayette and Chandler manufacturing facilities. Reporting directly to the President – Lafayette & Chandler, this role is a key member of the leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping a high-performance and engaged workforce.
Essential Functions:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals and manufacturing objectives.
- Act as a trusted, strategic advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, change management, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention:
- Develop recruitment strategies to attract top-tier salaried and hourly talent.
- Develop and implement retention strategies and career development programs to support employee growth and reduce turnover.
- Employee/Labor Relations & Compliance:
- Oversee employee relations issues, including investigations, discipline, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA and EEO regulations.
- Oversees the labor function, ensuring positive labor relations are maintained and business needs are supported by labor agreements.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
- Performance Management & Training:
- Oversee performance management processes including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback.
- Identify training needs and implement the development of training programs across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure training is provided to leaders on labor contract interpretation and compliance.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Oversee compensation structures to ensure competitiveness and equity.
- Partner with finance to manage HR budgets and workforce cost planning.
- HR Operations & Systems:
- Optimize HR processes and systems to enhance effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate HR metrics and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide direct leadership and supervision to the HR team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business management from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a unionized environment
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee/labor relations, talent management, and training – 5 of which must be in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Minimum of 5 years in an HR leadership role with direct supervisory responsibility
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Lafayette Operations in Lafayette, IN is located approximately 60 miles from the states capital, Indianapolis and is the home to Purdue University. Our Lafayette location has been continuously running in Lafayette community since 1938. We are an Aluminum Extrusions plant for Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial and Defense facility.
