Summary Plan and manage Environmental, Health, Safety, Workers’ Compensation, and DOT Programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial loss. Identify and appraise conditions, which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents. Essential Functions Provide visible Safety & Health leadership and promote a Safety Culture at the plant. Develop, implement, and coordinate environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Review Lockout / Tagout & Tryout Procedures, Risk Assessment, Fire Plans, and Ergonomic Evaluations. Conduct or direct research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of a given system, operation, or process. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned. Review incident reports submitted by department / EHS personnel. Assist engineering / maintenance in capital expenditure projects. Provide environmental guidance to reduce waste streams, improve recycling initiatives, and projects to enhance the reduction in the overall environmental footprint at the site. Maintain the Occupational Health – Safety Management System. Manage and budget Workers’ Compensation Program costs to reduce liability and reserves. Perform department environmental and safety audits. Coordinate the inventory and overall costs of the PPE Vending Machines. Plan, budget, and direct Purchase Accounting Safety Projects. Complete and submit environmental permits and reports to appropriate federal, state, and local agencies. Develop and implement corporate wide Safety Programs for TIMET’s EHS Director. Additional Responsibilities Ability to respond to after hour incidents. Perform Basic First Aid and CPR. Qualifications Competencies Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred, with 10 - 15 year’s experience. Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus. Special Skills Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and outside contractors. Knowledge of OSHA, WV, NFPA, EPA, & DOT Standards and industrial accepted safe work practices. Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word). Excellent technical writing skills.
