What You Will Do:
We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join our Engine Center in Bridgeport, WV as a level 3 NDT Inspector. The Level III Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector is responsible for the technical oversight, development, qualification, and implementation of Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) processes within our MRO facility. This role serves as the organization’s NDT subject matter expert for these methods, ensuring compliance with applicable aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
You will develop procedures, certify personnel, audit inspection processes, and provide technical leadership to ensure the integrity and reliability of critical turbine engine components. This position is open on our 1st shift, which is Monday-Thursday from 5:30am-3:30pm.
Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Serve as the company’s designated Level III authority for Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).
Develop, review, approve, and maintain NDT procedures and work instructions.
Inspection Program Oversight
Ensure proper execution of MPI and FPI inspections for turbine engine components including castings, forgings, machined parts, and assemblies.
Approve techniques for surface discontinuity detection including crack, seam, lap, and porosity indications.
Evaluate inspection results and provide technical disposition support for engineering and quality teams.
Personnel Qualification & Training
Train, examine, and certify Level I and Level II NDT personnel in MPI and FPI methods.
Maintain qualification records and certification documentation in accordance with aerospace regulatory standards.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to inspection teams.
Process Control & Compliance
Ensure inspection equipment, materials, and processes meet required specifications and calibration standards.
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to NDT processes, defect detection capability, and inspection efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer representatives to resolve technical inspection issues.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to NDT findings.
Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities and inspection planning
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years of NDT experience, with significant hands on experience in aerospace or other manufacturing facility, OR an Associates Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience, OR a High School Diploma/GED equivalent and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience
Current or previous Level III certification in MPI and FPI under ASNT
Qualifications We Prefer:
Prior experience supporting aerospace OEMs or MRO environments.
Familiarity with additional NDT methods (UT, RT, ET) is a plus.
Prior experience supporting customer or regulatory audits
Previous experience certifying NDT personnel

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
