The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and cooling systems. The department comprises individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support.
This onsite role will be based in Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.
What you Will Do
- The LTAMDS Integrated Array Assembly and Structure Product Lead will be a sub-IPT directly responsible for supporting the Array Integrated Product Team Lead.
- Responsible for executing the design, development, production, and delivery of the integrated phase arrays, including the array structure, power, RF, control, and cooling distribution, and miscellaneous array-level components.
- You will have ownership over these items across multiple contracts and spanning multiple years, including efforts critical to support future growth.
- You will govern contract scope while accommodating break-in of new design capabilities and producibility improvements.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal technical and programmatic stakeholders, including the IPT Leads, Operations & Supply Chain, Quality, Lifecycle Engineering, Chief Engineers, and Engineering Finance. Strong demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills are required to help drive the team to meet program milestones and ensure alignment with the roadmap.
- You will lead mechanical team members in the design and build of electronic modules, interconnects, and other array-level components as well as the support for system integration, test, and fielding activities.
- You will interface primarily with other mechanical and electrical engineers but will often be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams, program offices, and customers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience with phase array structures, and/or hardware packaging, and/or array integration for military or mechanical or commercial applications
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Cognizant of machine suppliers’ capabilities or have direct experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility
- Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, and electronics assemblies
- Strong technical background with high technical aptitude
- Strong leadership skills and project management
- Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
- Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software
- Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers
- Broad knowledge of project management.
- Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
