Pay Estimated: $17.74 - $22.74/Hour
Support the accurate and timely shipment of materials and products by coordinating shipping activities, preparing documentation, selecting carriers/routes, and ensuring compliance with shipping procedures and classified material handling requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, package, label, and process outgoing shipments in accordance with company procedures and shipping regulations
- Determine appropriate carriers, shipping methods, and routing for domestic and international shipments
- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, inventory records, and tracking information using computer-based systems
- Coordinate material movement with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and other internal teams to ensure on-time delivery
- Handle, process, and ship classified or sensitive materials in compliance with established security procedures
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles as needed to move materials safely and efficiently
- Monitor shipment status, resolve shipping discrepancies, and provide shipment updates to internal customers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping efficiency, inventory accuracy, and logistics processes
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation or AI-driven tools to improve shipping operations and workflow efficiency
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of shipping, warehouse, logistics, or related experience
- Working knowledge of shipping procedures, carrier operations, and shipping documentation
- Experience handling or processing classified or regulated materials preferred
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely
- Ability to operate forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles; certification preferred
- Experience using shipping software, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification or other relevant shipping/logistics certifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government environments
- Knowledge of inventory control and material tracking systems
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives
