Systems Engineer

Onsite in Colorado Springs, CO

Target salary range: $120,000 - $160,000.00

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
• Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
• Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
• Develop technical documentation, including system architecture and system design documentation
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
• Interact with the Product Owner regarding System Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
• Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the System Engineering area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Active SAP/SCI Clearance Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field from an accredited institution.(Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.)
• 15+ years of experience in systems engineering on programs of similar scope, complexity, and type.
• Active DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level or above is required.
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience using Sentinel system (formerly known as GBSD).
• Expertise using Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline configuration, scripting, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.
• Full software development lifecycle experience: specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Experience with safety- and mission-critical development standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-330, AFMAN 91-119).
• Strong understanding of structured, process-driven development environments including:
• Peer reviews
• Version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Defect tracking
• Build and release best practices
