Sr Supplier Quality Engineering Manager

Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world.The Unison Supplier Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, Unison, and customer requirements. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality materials and components to support production and operational goals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management:

    • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure alignment with company quality standards.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with aerospace regulations and company requirements.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure supplier adherence to AS9100, AS13100, S-1005, S-1007, AS9102, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
    • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including defect rates, delivery times, and cost efficiency.
    • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Flight Deck Management:

    • Apply GEs FLIGHT DECK operating system to drive supplier quality improvements.
    • Utilize FLIGHT DECK problem solving tools and methodologies
    • Lead supplier engagement initiatives using FLIGHT DECK principles to ensure SQDC priorities are met.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive supplier process improvements using lean methodologies, Flight Deck, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.
    • Implement strategies to reduce variability and improve supplier product quality.
    • Facilitate Kaizen events and other improvement initiatives with suppliers.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Manage and mentor a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
    • Prepare and present supplier quality performance reports to senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Operations, Quality, Supplier Quality Management)
  • Minimum of 5 years of Operations, Quality, and/or Supplier Quality Management experience
