PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join one of the industrys most cutting-edge aerospace teams. This 12-month, full-time contract role is based onsite in Windsor Locks, CT, where youll be at the forefront of engineering the systems that sustain life in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in developing and delivering environmental and life support systems and active thermal control systems for both commercial and defense space missions. This position plays a vital role in ensuring engineering programs meet technical performance and cost/schedule targets, while actively collaborating with internal teams and high-level stakeholders—including direct interface with customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead cross-functional engineering teams through planning, execution, and technical delivery
Manage all technical aspects of programs, acting as the key liaison between engineering and program management
Own project scope, cost, and schedule as a Control Account Manager (CAM), including Earned Value Management
Facilitate team meetings, action tracking, and leadership updates
Serve as the technical point of contact for internal departments (supply chain, operations, manufacturing)
Support corrective action plans, failure investigations, and issue resolution
Drive resource planning and execution in a matrix organization
Develop basis of estimates (BOEs) and lead proposal planning and delivery
Maintain constant communication with customers via daily tag-ups, weekly syncs, and quarterly reviews
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
OR an advanced degree in a related field with 3+ years experience
OR 9+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
Strong technical and project management skills, with a clear understanding of cost and schedule metrics
Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in aerospace systems development, particularly in life support or thermal control
Experience leading engineering teams in a matrix environment
Familiarity with customer-facing engineering roles and Earned Value Management

Pay Details: $33.38 per hour
