Over the course of six decades, TESAT has developed in-depth expertise in manufacturing of payload equipment for communication satellites and has established itself as a clear European market leader. On its 60,000m² premises in Backnang, Germany, about 1,100 employees develop, assemble, integrate, and test systems and equipment for telecommunication via satellite. Since more than 20 years, TESAT is pioneering the development and production of space borne laser communication terminals.
To maintain its technological edge, TESAT is heavily investing into quantum technologies. The company is currently involved in numerous national and international quantum cryptographic pilot projects and explores use cases for space borne quantum sensing and metrology.
Job Description:
You will join our quantum technology team and
- develop optical and quantum communication satellite payloads
- perform system engineering task for complex optical communications payloads
- participate in technology development programs for essential building blocks of next-generation optical and quantum payloads
- work on and test optical laser setups in our laser laboratory
- analyze and interpret data
- interact and support customers regarding technical requirements and specifications
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in communications engineering or other related STEM fields, e.g., physics, photonics, etc.
- Hands-on experience with lasers, opto-electronics and optics
- Analytical thinking
- Willingness to work in a team in multi-partner project structures
- Fluent in English and German
