Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and develop metallographic and microscopy inspection techniques in lab environment
• Interact and lead lab technician
• Identify and communicate to leadership schedule pressures and implement plans to mitigate the impact of those pressures on program deliverables.
• Participate in specific organizational initiatives.
• Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in metallurgical engineer, material science or engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Having a learning mindset and willingness to ask for help when unsure
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cross functionally with other teams
• Experience working with industry specifications
• Test experience

• Microscopy experience
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once and take accountability for your work
• Experience with metallography preparation (sectioning/mounting/polishing/etching)
• Experience with mechanical testing
