Precision Testing for Aerospace Innovation

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Lead Engineering Technician to support testing of advanced inertial and guidance electronics at our client Honeywell’s facility in Clearwater, FL This is a high-impact role requiring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality in a regulated environment.
About the Role
As a Lead Engineering Technician, you’ll perform dynamic, thermal, and functional testing on sensitive aerospace components. You’ll operate specialized test equipment, follow detailed procedures, and ensure compliance with FAA standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on testing of inertial and guidance electronics across various environmental conditions
Set up, program, and operate special test equipment for Acceptance Test Procedures
Handle and manipulate delicate hardware and circuit card assemblies
Maintain detailed test logs and follow test procedures without error
Communicate shift updates clearly through verbal and written documentation
Support lab maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians to ensure quality and efficiency
What We’re Looking For
You Must Have:
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience with general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies)
Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret blueprints/drawings
Basic computer skills and intermediate math proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal technical training from an educational institution or U.S. military
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience in a team-based, continuous improvement environment
Knowledge of Six Sigma principles and 5S practices

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $33.00 per hour
