The Assistant Engineering Manager supervises the delivery of operational excellence to enable our customers with a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports our brand and business.
Key Responsibilities
Line Maintenance is an operational critical section in Engineering Department that supports the Company’s brand and business by delivering a safe, reliable and cost-effective line maintenance service to Cathay Pacific Airways as well as our third party customers in the global network. The Assistant Engineering Manager supports the Engineering Manager on overseeing the operational and commercial performance at allocated station(s) and ensuring the delivery of the safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports our brand and business.
1、Responsible for:
- Deputise the Engineering Manager when required and assume the responsibilities as detailed in the Engineering Manager’s Job Description
- Supervise the shift to ensure the team is able to deliver a safe, efficient and effective operation
- Manage the day to day engineering operation • Manage and oversee third party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc.) as the Operational Duty Holder
- Supervise and certify aircraft maintenance
- Coordinate with other operational teams to ensure delivery of a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience to the customers
- Support the Engineering Manager on developing employees with high potential, identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development of the candidates, and execute succession plans
- Ensure safe working practices are applied and that all accidents are investigated and reported
- Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay values
- Help to build a strong and motivated team to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
- Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
- Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promise
- Assume Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
- Any other reasonable task as requested including engaging in non-operational duties and projects
Requirements
2、Academic Qualifications
- College degree is desirable • HKAR-66 B1 or B2 license, CCAR-66 license, or any equivalent license acceptable in HKAR-145
- Must hold all appropriate aircraft type approvals on the types operated at the station at level 3 standard
3、Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment as a certifying engineer
- Solid operational and technical knowledge
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated technical expertise, management and leadership qualities
