Summary:
The Lead Inspector is the person primarily responsible for ensuring inspections are completed accurately and in a timely manner, delegating these responsibilities as appropriate. This position also assists the Quality Assurance Manager in his duties, helping with audits, documentation, and other quality-related duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to authorized shop inspectors in the performance of their duties
- Perform inspections of in-process and completed work to ensure it conforms to standards
- Inspect parts for conformity to engineering drawing specifications
- Provide technical and compliance support to shop supervision and personnel
- Perform Receiving inspection duties for purchased material and services
- Prepare and execute maintenance release and certification documents. Complete FAA Form 337 in support of major repairs and alterations, update customer aircraft weight, balance & equipment list and other compliance documentation as required
- Perform internal audits and coordinate corrective actions of the company quality system requirements
- Assist with the tool & test equipment calibration program and employee training requirements
- Assist with the completion of quality system documentation and development and publishing of quality system manuals and supporting procedures
- Work independently in the performance of their assigned duties, set priorities for self and others, and maintain good communication with company leadership
- Travel to perform onsite inspections when required for AOG or other unique needs situations· Other duties as assigned
